Belgravia in Bloom and Chelsea in Bloom 2018

Running concurrently with the the Chelsea Flower Show this year was Belgravia in Bloom and Chelsea in Bloom with two separate floral themes.

Belgravia in Bloom (actually called Frida’s Belgravia in Bloom this year) is inspired by the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo whose work is to be exhibited at the V & A,  with the exhibition opening in June.

I love the way Moyses Stevens has incorporated Frida Kahlo into this floral installation.

Papouelli has incorporated artists’ palettes into their display.

All the streets of Belgravia looked so bright and full of colour.

I visited the day before the opening and there was lots of preparation going on all over Belgravia and Chelsea.

1 Chelsea in Bloom

Sloane Square looked stunning for Chelsea in Bloom this year. The theme for Chelsea was Summer of Love

There were more than a few nods to the Royal Wedding that took place just the week before.

This giant floral heart has a letter box for posting messages of congratulations to the Royal couple.

The Early Hours Ltd

Kathryn and I bumped into Lizzie and Latoyah from Early Hours Ltd, outside Harry’s Dolce Vita restaurant, working hard to finish their beautiful display by the end of the day.  I was delighted to hear that they won the People’s Vote as it was so well deserved. Kathryn popped back to see the finished display.

May in London is such fun and wandering around looking at these magnificent displays is completely free!
