When my friend, Kathryn suggested afternoon tea at West End’s Sanderson Hotel, I jumped at the chance.
The menu was presented in a vintage book entitled ‘Hertfordshire’ which delighted me as I have spent many happy days there.
There were so many more thoughtful details from the tiered cake stand topped with a black and white striped cup to the sweet miniature jars of fruit juice labelled ‘Drink Me’.
The black and white zebra design tea cups and plates were adorable.
There was a choice of Alice in Wonderland playing cards to choose from depending on your tea preference.
We were lucky enough to sit in the courtyard which provides a sheltered eating space nestled in the middle quadrant of the hotel.
We were surrounding by ornamental waterfalls, lush green plants, giant lanterns and flamingos.
The most pretty swing covered in roses attracted a lot of attention. We had to take a photo and yes, we did take a seat for a little while.

That looks like such fun. I love all the details you’ve picked out.
